Treaty Trader and Investor Visas
All E-visa requests (Canadian Citizens or permanent residents) for residents of British Columbia, Alberta and the Yukon are processed at the U.S. Consulate General in Vancouver.
Treaty Trader (E1) visa applicants must be engaged in existing, substantial international exchange of goods or services.
Treaty Investor (E2) visa applicants must be actively involved in a substantial commercial enterprise.
For more information and requirements on E1/E2 please visit Travel.State.Gov.
The U.S. Consulate General in Vancouver requires all E1 (Treaty Trader) and E2 (Treaty Investor) visa applicants to schedule appointments. Appointments can be scheduled online through the U.S. Visa Services website, or by calling 604-800-2794 (calling from greater Vancouver area), 877-341-2441 (calling from elsewhere in Canada) or 703-439-2319 (calling from the United States).
It is the responsibility of the applicant or his/her attorney to present fully-prepared E visa applications at the time of the interview. Documentation must be organized in such a way that the consular officer can locate all of the relevant facts to make adjudication within 5-10 minutes. Applicants who fail to submit the necessary information will face delays in the processing and adjudication of their cases.
We strongly encourage careful review of the Travel.State.Gov link provided above.
